Ballet flats are very trendy right now. I love it when a classic item comes back in style, don’t you? In this post, I have seven outfits with the ballet flats. I shopped around for awhile before landing on this pair from Sam Edelman. I love the color which I think is different and more edgy than a black pair. Plus, the lighter color helps to elongate my legs.
For sizing reference, this pair runs slightly big. I’d say stay true to size if you have wide feet and size down a half size if you have narrow feet. I’m adding these shoe inserts so they fit better.
Here are some basic tips for styling ballet flats:
- If you’re petite, I would avoid styling your ballet flats with full length trousers or jeans as the more rounded toe of the shoe will disappear under this style of bottoms.
- This goes for most shoes, but I like having at least one item in my outfit that matches my shoes like my top or my bag. This helps to make the look more cohesive.
- Personally, I prefer having masculine and feminine contrasting elements in my outfits. Since these shoes lean toward the feminine side, I like adding a masculine element like a trench coat, button down, or blazer.

This is a classic look combining a blazer with cropped denim and flats. I just recently purchased this blazer, and the fit is on point. It is a little oversized and boxy but not too extreme. I kept this look tonal with a white tee and matching bag.

This base of this outfit is very Parisian chic, but I think the washed black denim and green trench coat make it a little bit edgy, too. I don’t own this green trench coat, but it’s on my wishlist!

I love the mix of this cream color with chocolate brown. These pants have a cropped fit so the ballet flats can really shine! I paired these with a cozy sweater and a matching sling bag.

Versatility is really important to me when it comes to my wardrobe so I wanted to see if I could dress these flats up for a fall date night look. I love this one! The belted blazer over a slinky dress is so sexy and chic. I matched my blazer to my shoes to make this look work together.

I’m kind of going against the ‘rules’ here styling full length jeans with these ballet flats, but I think it works because of the light colored flats with a darker wash jean. I kept it tonal with a chocolate brown bag and cream colored cardigan for an easy everyday look.
